Wait OutComing soon

Your progress stays yours.

Wait Out is built for private change. This page explains what the app stores, why it needs that information, and what you can control.

For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@waitout.app. You can also export records or request account deletion from Settings.

What information does Wait Out save?

Wait Out saves the information needed to keep your account working and show your progress across supported devices.

Some details can be personal. Optional fields stay optional, and Wait Out does not guess information you did not provide.

  • Account and sign-in identifiers, including your email address, linked sign-in providers, and an optional preferred name.
  • Habit settings, category, custom display name, reasons, notes, and optional time or money settings.
  • Progress events, milestones, urge sessions, support methods, optional check-ins, and slips.
  • Purchase entitlement status used to unlock Pro features.
  • Technical crash and performance diagnostics from the native app, independently of the product analytics preference.
  • Technical device and connection information used by authentication, app verification, purchases, and diagnostics, such as app version, operating system, device identifiers, and network request information.
  • Privacy-safe product events only when you enable analytics.
  • Information you choose to send when you email support. Please leave out passwords, payment details, and private habit notes.

How does Wait Out use that information?

The app uses your data to keep progress accurate, show patterns, sync records, restore purchases, and complete export or deletion requests.

Your private habit details are never used to create a public profile, social feed, or AI coach.

Habit information can reveal personal health or wellbeing information. Add only the optional details you want the app to keep; notes and custom reasons are not used to generate pattern insights.

What stays on my device, and what is synced?

Progress is saved on your device first. With account sync enabled, the app copies habit records, events, and kept writing to Firebase and can restore synced records on another device.

Turning sync off stops future uploads and remote updates. It keeps the existing cloud copy; turning sync off or uninstalling the app does not delete your account.

Local records use the device’s normal storage protection, without a separate app-level database encryption layer. Unsynced records cannot be restored after the app is deleted, so export anything you want to keep first.

What happens to writing in an urge tool?

Writing in the urge tool stays in memory until you choose Keep it. Leaving the tool without keeping the writing does not save that draft as a progress record.

Let it go removes kept writing from local session records and queues removal from any synced cloud session. If the device is offline or sync is disabled, the existing cloud copy remains until the update can reach Firebase.

Other notes and custom reasons are saved when you submit the corresponding form. Keep it and Let it go apply specifically to the writing tool.

What reaches product analytics?

Analytics stays off until you choose to enable it. When it is on, Wait Out uses a random analytics identifier instead of your email address or sign-in identity.

Custom habit names, reasons, notes, exact financial values, email addresses, and support interactions stay out of analytics and general logs.

Native Firebase Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring are enabled separately from optional product analytics. They receive technical diagnostics to help identify crashes and service failures. Turning product analytics off does not turn these diagnostics off.

You can change your product analytics preference in Settings at any time. Turning it off stops future product events; it does not by itself delete events already received.

Which services help Wait Out work?

Firebase supports sign-in, synchronized app data, server tasks, and managed diagnostics. RevenueCat and the platform stores provide purchase status. PostHog EU receives limited product events only when you enable analytics.

RevenueCat uses your app account identifier to connect purchase entitlements to your account. It does not need your habit names, reasons, or notes to provide that service.

Cloudflare hosts this website. Opening an external professional-support link takes you to a separate provider whose privacy policy applies to that visit.

How is my information protected?

The app uses protected network connections to its managed services, account-based access controls for synced records, and the device’s storage protection for local records. These safeguards do not make a shared or unlocked device private.

Protect your device and sign-in credentials, and take care when saving or sharing an export. An export contains personal records and is outside the app’s controls once you share it.

Can I export or delete my data?

Open Settings, then Your data, to export your records or permanently delete your account. Export includes device records and pending changes; with sync disabled, it is a device-only export rather than a complete cloud copy.

Account deletion requires you to verify your sign-in again. The deletion flow removes Firebase account records and requests removal of the linked RevenueCat and PostHog identities; if a required service fails, the app reports the failure so you can retry.

Deleting the app is different from deleting your account. Deleting an account also does not cancel a store subscription, remove the store’s purchase history, or erase copies of exports you have saved or shared.

Export contents, deletion confirmation text, and errors containing your writing are not sent to analytics.

How long is my data kept?

Saved account and cloud progress records have no automatic expiry. They remain until you remove supported records or complete account deletion; turning sync off does not erase the existing cloud copy.

Device records remain until removed in the app or when the app is deleted. Product analytics events already collected remain with PostHog under its service retention rules unless removal is requested, including through account deletion.

Standard backend logs expire after 30 days; required audit logs expire after 400 days. Firebase diagnostics and authentication have separate provider retention periods, so account deletion does not instantly erase every technical record.

Support emails remain in the receiving mailbox until removed. You can ask for deletion of your correspondence by emailing hello@waitout.app.

How long do service providers keep diagnostics?

Firebase begins removing Crashlytics crash data after 90 days. Performance Monitoring keeps IP-associated events for 30 days and installation-associated or de-identified performance data for 60 days before beginning removal.

Firebase Authentication keeps IP logs for a few weeks. After an authentication account is deleted, Firebase removes its other authentication information from live and backup systems within 180 days.

These provider periods are separate from your saved habit records. Store transaction records and records retained independently by service providers follow their own policies and legal requirements.

Can children use Wait Out?

Wait Out is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

If you believe someone under 18 has provided personal information, contact hello@waitout.app so we can investigate and arrange deletion.

What does this website collect?

This marketing site has no account form and no product analytics. The hosting service may process basic technical request data to deliver and protect the site.

The website’s breathing exercise runs in your browser. It does not create a habit record or send your breathing activity to the app backend.

How can I make a privacy request?

You can edit supported habit details and recorded activity in the app. Email hello@waitout.app if you need help accessing, correcting, deleting, or obtaining a copy of your personal information, or want to object to or restrict its use.

Your rights depend on the law that applies to you. You can also raise a concern with your local data protection authority; we may need to verify your identity before handling a request.

Please do not send your password or private notes to prove your identity. If you cannot sign in, contact support for help with the account request.

Where can I ask a privacy question?

Email hello@waitout.app with privacy questions. Settings also includes controls for export, deletion, and product analytics preferences.
